Business Trip to China

I'm back from China. Overall, the trip was ok. In fact there is some fabulous experience which I'm going to elaborate more later. :)

Overall summary on how I spend my days in China:

Day 1
The day before, I was worried like shit. My kns boss does not allow me to check-in my baggage as we need to rush to ferry port. We are taking ferry to Shekou Port, China. Anyway, Anyway, the hand baggage rules not really that strict for Cathay Pacific Airline. Btw, my luggage size just bigger a bit (like 10cm extra.. :p).

Before this, my colleague warn me that my kns boss walk really really fast. I was like, "How fast could that be?" And it turns out that he walked fast enough to make me hurt my leg so much that I hardly walk after I'm back from China. Poor me.

Anyway, the taxi driver that suppose to come and pick me up from my home arrive sharp and 6.30 am as promised and off I went to KLIA. Well, actually it's my first time to board a plane at KLIA. Normally just travel through budget airline. Hehe. My kns boss asked me to find him at VIP Lounge but I didn't. No point cos I can't go in. Might as well start reading my story book.

Thank god that I don't have to sit with him. It was the first time I'm on Cathay plane, so abit jakun and explore the buttons around my seat. The in-flight movie that I watched: Salt.
My lunch

After about almost 4hrs later, reach HKIA. That is the beginning of my nightmare. Running with my heels while carrying my hand luggage just to be able to get a ferry ticket to Shekou, China. The kns boss knew that I can't run that fast, and quickly take my passport to make the ticket purchase on my behalf while I struggling to see where he was. Ferry ride was superb boring with no entertainment and seems like forever. I am trying to find my focus point so that I won't puke. Thank god the ride was not rough.

When we arrived at China, the immigration people scan my passport for the longest time ever. I have no idea why he took so bloody damn long. The photo in the passport are the most recent picture as I have just renew them. I guess he must have thought that I am illegal immigrant with a fake passport.

Right after we leave the terminal, there is no sight of the driver that was supposed to chauffeur us to supplier company. The furious kns boss called them and scold them kao kao for being late. lol. And it turn out that the driver already been waiting but doesn't really recognize kns boss. lol.

We went straight to supplier company to have my stupid factory tour while kns boss left with another person. Probably go meet his lover. After the boring tour, I was finally being send back to my hotel to rest before the dinner. Well, I really hate the fact I have to have dinner with them. Boring like shit. The food sucks. Who said China food good??!! And that idiotic supplier smoke INSIDE the closed room with aircond ON. brainless idiot.
Finally at about 10pm, I can finally go back to hotel. Watch my HK drama. lol. No exploring cos it's damn scary out there.
Bed @ Haiyatt Gardens Hotel

Even thought the bed looks nice and comfortable, the bloody wall so thin. I can hear what's going on at the next room. I heard some China girl voices damn farking loud, giggling. And the door bell ringing non stop. Must be that farking prostitute looking for business. FML. I have restless night.

Day 2
Awake quite early cos I can't sleep well. Went to have my breakfast. I have no idea how those receptionist communicate with non Chinese. When I ask them where shall I go to get my complimentary breakfast, that girl pretend she didnt hear and insist I speak to her in Mandarin. wtf. At that very instant, I couldn't figure out how to translate complimentary breakfast in Mandarin. I keep on repeating breakfast for a few times and finally "zhao chan" in the end.
Yao char kuey with filling. The best thg compare to other stuff. But it was superb oily. I only can take half it.

Xmas deco at the hotel

Check out from hotel after breakfast and continue journey to Huizhou. Another supplier from Huizhou pick us up. There is a Japanese speaking China girl with us. The kns boss sibeh happy cos got leng lui chat with him in Japanese throughout the journey to Huizhou.

This time, I can finally check in to my hotel first and have our lunch (very oily lunch) before heading to supplier company. We were suppose to factory audit that company. The kns boss did all the thgs while I need to follow him walking like a F1 car with my one and only footwear, yes, the heel with other China engineer. By the time we are done, my leg was shaking while I'm seated. After wrapping up the meeting, kns boss asked the leng lui and driver to accompany me to do some sight seeing. Wah! Kns boss sibeh good wo. I was brought to Huizhou West Lake. Frankly speaking, it was the most boring tour ever and my leg hurt so much whenever I try to walk an inch. Furthermore, it's Dongzhi. Everyone closed their shop earlier and nothing much to be seen precisely. Ok. Maybe I dont know how to appreciate lake or china history. I dont even know who is Su Dongpo. But I knew who is Li Bai (cos watched HK drama.)

And its actually very famous place and must visit place according to chinatravel.com
Huizhou West Lake covers 3.2 square kilometers in total with 1.4 square kilometers of water. It is famous for the five lakes, six bridges and eight sceneries. Four hundred and more scholars in different dynasties in history with Su Dongpo as representative has ever traveled around Huizhou to appreciate West Lake and be inspired enough to create cherish cultural relics of West Lake. Once can not only visit various sceneries in the West Lake, but also appreciate the West Lake under the context of the whole Huizhou City. The most essential point is to understand the way the city and the lake integrate and the interacted beauty. One can also see Huizhou’s beautiful street scenery and nocturne to known about Dongpo Culture of West Lake (Su Dongpo is a famous scholar in Chinese history who has ever wrote many essays and poets to describe the beauty of West Lake).

The beautiful lake

Ok. I like the plant more than the lake. lol. but it's part of the lake?

By the time we reach there, almost sunset dy la. See what see la. haih.

Some pagoda which I refuse to climb cos my leg hurts.

Fat me and the pagoda.

View when the lights on

I think this is Su Dongpo statue.

Some high class restaurant. The reflection look nice.

We (Leng lui, driver and I) went to have our dinner at nearby restaurant before we went to "have a look" at the China shopping mall. I so wanted to buy those nice boots. I know I know. Malaysia no one wear boots de. lol. But the price damn expensive la. They brought me to the expensive malls. lol. Boring like hell also. Alot of cheaper stall all closed cos of the Dong zhi. Arrghhh. Wasted. Since I can't shop and my leg hurts, so I request driver to send me back to hotel. He can have his Dong zhi reunion with his family. (He keep on emphasis that day is Dongzhi and his family celebrate it much more than CNY). Oh ya. Most of the Huizhou local ppl speak Hakka. Haha. So, I speak Hakka with the driver. :p

My second hotel @ Huizhou

Haha... Condom n lubricant in the hotel.

Me wearing like sohai cos quite cold that day.

Day 3
Travel in car, ferry, flight whole day.
The fabulous experience is, I fly on business class from HK to KL. Fulamak. Sibeh syiok. The stewardess address me by my name. The food was totally different compare to economy class. They have prepare menu for today's dinner. And the desert is Haagen Daaz Ice cream. super delicious. And I can extend the seat till like sleeping position. omg. so so nice and comfortable. I was never hungry or feel thirsty throughout the flight. Plenty of replenishment. So nais. lol. Enough of sai meang dy. Ok. I also felt so embarass cos I dunno where is my screen. I was given headphone without screen. And I dare not ask anyone also. So, I pray hard that Aunty beside me will on her tv screen, which she did. So, I just observe and follow what she did. She must have been laughing damn hard at my stupidity. lol.

That's basically my 3d2n "trip" to China.

Business trip to China - Before

I am going to China for the very first time. It's not leisure. My kns boss and I will attend meeting with supplier and factory auditing. So, which means I just sit there and listen to them talk crap and yet have the chance to go China for free. And I assumed that meal will be free too. lol. So, basically all I need is to have enough cash or maybe card for me to go SHOPPING! Hopefully I can have extra time to do so. *Crossing my finger*

The meeting actually held in Dongguan where I got the chance to stay at Hyatt. Woohoo. It looks nice from the website. As usual, did some research on that area and discover some FML thing about Dongguan.

Source from Wikitravel:
As in all of China, be careful. You can be robbed, especially in less populated areas. Prostitution is widespread in Dongguan, and many men from Guangzhou, Shenzhen and especially Hong Kong flock here on the weekends. Karaoke bars are basically another word for whore house. The law on prostitution is not enforced ever. However, do not gamble! You will end up in jail for possibly, a long time if you are caught gambling, save it for Macau. Lastly, a lot of the police force is corrupted, but since the government is still watching over them, they are discrete. So if a policeman tries to get money from you, calmly reply to him to see a superior.

It scared the shit out of me upon reading that. Crime happening still acceptable to me. But heck prostitution. I am not against prostitution, but then I hate to see those China-hamsap-pek roaming around looking for target. Urrgghhh!! Their disgusting look! Puik! Shall I roam around alone when I am free?? I guess not. *Sad* I wanna go shopping. :(

No wonder kns boss LOVE to visit CHINA.

Totoro character bento

Recently I've been re-watching Studio Ghibli animation film. One of the most lovable character that I like very much is Totoro. lol. I have Totoro plush toy and key chain. *happy*

Since I'm so into Totoro, I lazily browse the net and accidentally discover factory bento.
And hence my weekend project is to make totoro bento.

Totoro peanut butter sandwich

Mini totoro

Susuwatari rice ball

And unrelated Mario Mushroom (cos its easy to make n cute)

Last but not least, Totoro rice

factory bento provide full recipi and method in how to make each character. So, happy cooking to those who attempt to try out. :)

Dear Diary

Took 2 days leave last week so that I have 5days leave consecutively. DD and I went to Sg Siput to attend DD’s sister wedding.

Myun, JC, DD and I went to shopping at the KL. Went to UNIQLO to buy some fall/winter jacket for Japan trip next year. It’s a year away actually. I’ve bought a pair of heel that I have been looking for ages ago. It’s the perfect height. I mean the heel. I can’t wear something too high. The last time I wore high heel is during Minli’s tea ceremony wedding session. It was just a few hour and yet I got leg and back pain for few days. fml.

Since I already bought chicken to make pongteh chicken, I decided to cook on Thursday as lunch. I realize I don’t have potato to complete my dish and I’m too lazy to go out to buy, I used red apple instead. lol. No one commented on that.

I was craving for egg tart the whole day but there is nowhere to be found when my craving struck.

Since DD sis didn’t hire any photographer for her wedding session, she requested me to take her photo throughout the session instead. I was hesitated cos I’m very sure the photo will not turn out great, so I asked her cousin brother with the superb nice DSLR to be the main photographer instead. I just simply snap some since people already requested and I have nothing better to do. lol.

DD was supposed to be the photographer but he had another mission. To be the head of jimui. Apparently, the sis doesn’t have any jimui at all. I always thought that this kind of thing happen only once a lifetime for most of us, thus it must be as perfect as possible. But not for that couple I guess.

It’s really hard to take photo during the ceremony. I really salute those professional photographers. It’s even harder when the groom doesn’t co-operate at all. Of all the people that I’ve known, he is one of the most inconsiderate and unfriendly people on earth. Its ok cause not that I’m going to spend the rest of my life with him. lol.

Wedding dinner held in some community hall. It doesn’t look like a wedding dinner to me. More like open space karaoke session between the villagers. The worst part is my table just happens to be next to that bloody speaker. I think I’m jinxed. For all the wedding dinner that I went, I always tend to get those tables beside the speaker. Fml max

There is no cake cutting ceremony. How could this be??!!

I am really suay lo. The dress I brought to wear on the wedding dinner, I realize it’s too short. So, I force DD to help me to buy pantyhose, black one cos more sexy ma. lol. And before we leave hotel to the dinner venue, I accidentally scratch my pantyhose. The more I try to fix it, the hole got bigger. Kns. I was forced to wear that whole night. There goes my RM30. Fml. Anyway, I decided not to throw that but to make more holes on it. I called it NEW FASHION. Lol. kiam siap ma. What to do??!!

Oh, I’m so proud of myself. I didn’t eat the shark fin dish cause I support STOP cruelty to animal. I only started doing so since Oct. Well, it might be a bit late but better than never. So, my fellow friends, don’t eat shark fin. (It reminds me of Shoni and her Sai Yeong Choi Siong Tong. lol)

The custom made shoe cupboard arrives last Saturday. I was forced to tidy up my shoes and bid farewell to plenty of shoes. And I realize a lot of those shoes that I’ve purchase, I haven’t worn them even once. OMG. I’m so bad.

Is that a sign??!!!

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain

Dreaming

I dream every single freaking night, or even sometimes during my evening nap. I’m tired of being able to do that. Sigh. If I really could remember all my dreams, I probably would be one of the best script writers. lol.

Since most of those dreams, I can vividly remember, I decided to search for the meaning of it. Maybe my “sickness” can be cured?!! I googled around and found this interesting website. Not sure how true the interpretation is but then at least I have an answer.

Go and have some fun... interpret your dream :)

P/S: Why I never dream of toto or magnum number??!!! lol

Funny

Message: In case you needed further proof that the human race is seriously challenged, here are some actual label instructions on consumer goods.

On a Sear's hairdryer:
....Do not use while sleeping.
(darn, and that's the only time I have to work on my hair.)

On a bag of Fritos:
....You could be a winner! No purchase necessary.
Details inside.
(the shoplifter special?)

On a bar of Dial soap:
"Directions: Use like regular soap."
(and that would be how???....)

On some Swanson frozen dinners:
"Serving suggestion: Defrost."
(but, it's "just" a suggestion.)

Tesco's Tiramisu dessert (printed on bottom):
"Do not turn upside down."
(well...duh, a bit late, huh?)

On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding:
"Product will be hot after heating."
(...and you thought????...)

On packaging for a Rowenta iron:
"Do not iron clothes on body."
(but wouldn't this save me more time?)

On Boot's Children Cough Medicine:
"Do not drive a car or operate machinery after
taking this medication."
(We could do a lot to reduce the rate of construction accidents if we could just get those 5-year-olds with head-colds off those forklifts.)

On Nytol Sleep Aid:
"Warning: May cause drowsiness."
(and...I'm taking this because???....)

On most brands of Christmas lights:
"For indoor or outdoor use only."
(as opposed to...what?)

On a Japanese food processor:
"Not to be used for the other use."
(Now, somebody out there, help me on this. I'm a bit curious.)

On Sainsbury's peanuts:
"Warning: contains nuts."
(talk about a news flash)

On an American Airlines packet of nuts:
"Instructions: open packet, eat nuts."
(Step 3: maybe, uh...fly Delta?)

On a child's superman costume:
"Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly."
(I don't blame the company. I blame the parents for this one.)

On a Swedish chainsaw:
"Do not attempt to stop chain with your hands or genitals."
(Oh my God...was there a lot of this happening somewhere?)

Personality test - Quite true for me

The test:

First, identify yourself as right or left brain person:

1. Hold your hands together, as if you were praying. Look at your hands. If you see

Left thumb is below the right thumb ---> left brain
Right thumb is below the left thumb ---> right brain

2. Fold your arms in front of you (as if you are angry)

Right arm above left arm ---> left brain
Left arm above right arm ---> right brain

Based on 1+2 (order important), below is the interpretation of your personality:

Right-Left
==========

Considerate, traditional, indirect type can instinctively read others emotion, and respond friendly by natures. Although not very into taking initiatives in moving forward, but this person will always take a step back in supporting others. Stable personality and considerate, give others a being protected feeling. But the weakness is they cannot say no; regardless how unwilling they are, they will take care of others.

Right-Right
===========

Loves challenges type. Straight forward.
Once they decided on one thing, will take action right away. Very curious, and love challenges. Dare to face dangers without thinking through (sometimes foolishly). Their weakness is they don't listen to others, will filter in only what whey want to hear in a conversation, and very subjective. However, because of their straightforward attitude, they tend to be fairly popular.

Left-Left
=========

Dedicated, cold, perfectionist
Very logical in all aspects. The only way to defeat (or win over) him/her is through reasons. Has a lot of prides, and feeling strongly about doing the right thing. If they are your friends, they are very trustworthy. However, if they are your opponents, they will be very tough to deal with. Because they can be very "anal" as a perfectionist, they usually leave a bad impression of being hard to deal with when first met.

Left-Right
==========

Likes to take care of others, leader type
Has a cool and keen observation ability to see through situations, yet still can be considerate in others needs. Because of their cool and calm nature, and strong sense of responsibility, they tend to become head of a group. Popular among people. However, they maynot be able to help themselves in meddling because they want to take care of others too much. Very concerned about how others view them, and always on alert.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am right-right person. Let me check and confirm it. lol.

Loves challenges type. (Check. Who doesn't anyway??! Won't it be boring if there is no challenges in life. lol.)

Straight forward. (Check. Very true.)

Once they decided on one thing, will take action right away. (Check check check. Especially when deciding if I should buy or shouldn't buy)

Very curious, and love challenges. (Check. I'm not a routine person. Heck!! I am still working in the same company with the same task. tsk tsk)

Dare to face dangers without thinking through (sometimes foolishly). (Check. Check. Check. Even I am broke, I still continue to swipe my credit card. Sigh!!)

Their weakness is they don't listen to others, will filter in only what whey want to hear in a conversation, and very subjective. (Check. OMG. This is so damn true. I thought I was weird because I have selective hearing or whatsoever. I am not weird then. lol.)

However, because of their straightforward attitude, they tend to be fairly popular. (No so true. I don't have much friends nor popular. Cause my mouth always speak before I think. lol. I think not everyone likes that. ;) )
