LIKE THAT ALSO CAN!!!???

Looking at the picture, I find it very hilarious. And it reminds me of an incident that once occur to me when I was in UNI.

I am sharing my room with L (name of the person shall not be disclose) during my final year. I really have no idea or better words to describe her. She is the weirdest people that I’ve ever encountered until today.

If I were to be given a chance to write about here, I think I can publish a book, title “The weirdo roommate”. LOL. I know… it’s not that I’m over-reacting. Maybe you can be one of the judges here and see how bad it is.

Okay. Back to the story.

There are 5 of us staying in the same house. Usually, we shall most of the things. So, one day L bought a peanut jam. It was actually one of those expensive jam where I won’t even dare to buy, and most of all, it makes me fat. LOL. Anyway, she proudly announced it to all of us and says, “YOU ALL CAN TAKE SOME IF YOU WANT”.

And after a few weeks, I found a “cute” note pasted on the bottle of the peanut jam. “DO NOT EAT MY JAM. PLEASE GET MY PERMISSION BEFORE YOU DO SO. SOB SOB.” Out of curiosity, I open the bottle and discover than it’s only ¼ full. Some greedy housemates already ate most of her jam. When I get back to my room, I saw a message on my yahoo. “DID YOU EAT MY JAM?”. And I reply, “NO.” (not a single bite)

I mean I really don’t understand some people. Why they can finish up people stuff and wont feel guilty at all? Don’t you think it’s a common sense that you should not do so, and if u ever did, just replace it!! So hard meh??

LIKE THAT ALSO CAN???

P/S:
Moral of the story, do not share your stuff unless you expect people to finish it up for you. Always bear in mind that, they will do so. DOES THAT MEAN I SHALL LABEL ALL MY BELONGINGS WITH “DO NOT TOUCH”, “DO NOT EAT”. LOL.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Forgot to mention why I said L is a weirdo. Well, as mention earlier, she is my roommate. How do you communicate with your roommate?? Go right to her and use your mouth and talk right.
Apparently, this weirdo decided to use msn to "talk" to me. Whenever she felt like she need something from me, she just won't walk a few steps, and use her bloody mouth. Common la.. I'm not even miles miles away.... =.=!!!

Backpacking Journey: Siem Reap, Cambodia (Part 2)

Ok.... After a relaxing day 1, we exhaust ourselves on Day 2 by walking until our legs basically can't move another inch at Temples of Angkor, one of the World Heritage.

We reach Angkor Wat around 6pm, awaiting for the sunrise.
Before daylight...

I force myself to awake at 4am. Yeap. It’s super duper early. Simply because we need to rush to Angkor Wat before the sunrise. We are going to spend the rest of the day exploring the uniquely Angkor Wat, one of the world heritage site. It wasn’t our lucky day as its cloudy and we couldn’t see nor capture the breathtaking views of the sunrise.

Siang and I

After having our breakfast(bread only), we explore around Angkor Wat before heading to South Gate of Angkor Thom.

Jean, having breakfast

The same morning visit South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Baphoun, Terrace of the Elephants, Terrace of the Leper King, Ta Phrom, Pre-rup and many more. Sorry that I couldn't recall the names.
Bayon temple (front view I think)

Me, posing at one of the "window" at Bayon temple. Famous spot for tourist.
Siang also wanna post.. ish ish....

Different shades of colour cos some are replica made at different time. (Oh.. it's knowledge thing)

Ta Phrom (The Angelina Jolie- Tomb raider tree. Nah... not sure which tree cuz all look the same)

Look!! There's superman up there!!!

We saw this ruin which look exactly like a photo frame. So, we all started to take photograph with this "frame". We took really really long time, snapping our 5-lian-pai till some of the visitors probably sick of us or laughing at us. But it was so fun.
Siang post damn funny lor...

How come I don't have other people funny pose de..... Arrgghhh....

After posing too much, time for exercise. We actually climb all the way up on the small and steep staircase. Then we notice YP face turn white. Damn scary. Thought that he going to puke anytime. (The CNY incident). LOL.

YP very very pale face. Pity. Pity.

Some old stones/fallen debris of the monument. Dunno why, it looks so creepy or scary. Don't you think so?

ok. finally something green within all the brown brown wall

Sunset view at Pre-Rup. no sunset also... T___T.

So,we basically walked the whole day until we barely can move an inch. I can feel that my legs no longer attached to my body. Around 6.30pm, we bid farewell to Angkor Kingdom and headed straight back to our hostel.

It’s felt so good after a long shower. After a tiring day, we decided to have our dinner at our in-house restaurant of Ancient Angkor. Nothing in the world can beat a nice warm meal with the local beer. Cheers!!!

Monk holding laptop bag

LOL. Dunno why i find it very funny. As far as i remember, usually monk will hold those brown rug bag. Cool eh this monk.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Day 3 is street days.

Holding the map around the city, we explore the town. There’s really so many temples around. Today is the day we’ve learned so much about Cambodian people. We walked around and bump into a group of students learning English at the temple. Out of curiosity, we actually attempt to get a clearer view of the place but to our surprise, the teacher came out and invite us to join the class. We had our English lesson for around half an hour.

English class with student

Ok. that white shirt fella is the teacher. if not mistaken his name is john. cambodian name too complicated to be remember. LOL.

After a valuable experience, we finally reach the market. Shopping at Siem Reap really very expensive as the currency rate is USD. I end up didn't buy anything in Siem Reap.

While we were deciding where to have our dinner, we bumped into the teacher at the temple. We had our dinner together and that is the time we learn about Cambodia from a Cambodian.
Where is the group photo? How come I don't have??

There is lots of funny picture inside Siang's camera but I accidentally deleted it. Damn. Stupid me.

Well. That's the wrap up for Siem Reap Part 11. Stay tuned for next post when we travel to Phnom Penh...

Babai for now....

Backpacking Journey: Siem Reap, Cambodia (Part 1)

My story has to start where we need to rewind back to July 2008. On this boring working day, Shoni called and says; “Hey! Airasia ticket to Cambodia is cheap la. Let’s go backpack!” At that instant, I was a little bit doubtful if I can make it. Well, for a start, I don’t even have a backpack!! Anyway, I really love to try that and we’ve booked air ticket to Siem Reap and back from Ho Chi Minh City. Well, since already going, why not go further till Vietnam.

So, on 18th March 2009, Yitpong, Jean, Siang and I took our 7am flight to Siem Reap. Yes, you didn’t see wrongly, as there is no Shoni. So sad that she couldn’t join us due to some personal issue. I bet she cursing on that issue right now.

We reached Siem Reap International Airport about 8am local time, with our 8 bags. Each one of us two bags.

Siem Reap International Airport. Luggage pick-up lounge.

We did not book any hostel yet and have no idea where to start with.
So, the only reasonable thing is, we should get a place to stay and put down our heavy loads. We managed to get an airport taxi that brings us to town area to look for a place to stay. We finally get ourselves two rooms at Ancient Angkor. Rooms are pretty good but the receptionist really gave us a big headache. She spoke little English.

After banging our head against a brick wall, trying to explain our intention, we already manage to hail a taxi and the driver agreed to send us to Angkor Wat. Before heading to Angkor Wat, our driver brought us to have our lunch. At that hour, we are the first and only customer as the restaurant just started their business on that day. We had our Khmer dish as recommended by the staff in the restaurant.

With our stomach loaded with juicy food, we headed to our destination as planned. We reached the ticket booth to buy our ticket to go into Angkor but then were told that we can’t extend the duration until the next day as it’s still too early. If we wanted to go in again another day, we need to pay again. Wtf. For god sake, I wasn’t born yesterday, okay? It’s bloody damn expensive and I don’t think I need to burn my money just like that. USD40 can entitle us 3day pass and of course we didn’t take that offer as I personally think that we are not archeologist or architect that need to measure every inch of the bricks there.

After much discussion, we decided to go to Tonle Sap instead. Well, the original plan is to see the sunset view at Tonle Sap, but we just aren’t that lucky that day as I don’t think its possible as it just 2pm when we reached the jetty. Its way too long before the sun gonna set. On the way before we reach the jetty, the breathtaking view of the lotus farm and paddy field really amused us. We actually request the driver to stop us at one of the farm to take picture. It’s the first time I taste the fresh lotus seed as well.

Paddy field
Little hut where the owner of the lotus field take a rest
Lotus field... nice isn't it??
It's me...
Lotus seeds for sale!!
Another scenic view

Anyway, at the jetty, four of us were to be seated in a boat that can actually fit at least a dozen of people.

Entrance to the jetty where we will be seated on our boat.

Lots of boat
Siang acting cool
Floating school
Cute piggy farm
Floating church

We cruse along the river murky river and finally reached the floating village of Chong Khneas.

Mother with two child
The whole river cruise just took about 1 hour and we reluctantly return to our hostel as we have don’t have plan B. LOL.

When night falls, we walk around the town area and come across Pub Street. We had our dinner at World Lounge.

Funny incident of the day:
Yitpong took the wrong side of the seat of the taxi that we board to leave Siem Reap airport. Apparently, none of us realize or know that the road system in Cambodia is the total opposite of those in Malaysia.

P/S: If I were to be in his position, I would do the same mistake. LOL

Too free..

Secret of the day...

Quick updates...

I never been so free as today for quite a long time. My supervisor on leave and AM on half day leave, which means, I can surf net till 5.10pm today. :)
I have lots of photo and detail to share but I don't have the time to edit the photo and post it. I'm such a lazy fellow. It's either I'm buzy watching the Hong Kong drama series or reading my storybooks.

Talking bout books, while I'm packing my stuff, I realise I bought too much books and magazine and yet I don't have a proper bookshelf to keep them. Oh my... anyone willing to "sponsor" me. In return, I can lend you my books...

Oh yes.. Currently I'm reading Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella. I find it funny even though I haven finished the whole book. I know not all would agree with me though but it's sure is funny for me after reading the whole series of Sidney Sheldon's book.

I will be moving out from PJ to my new house in Puchong before end of the year. While packing part of my "luggage", felt abit reluctant. Started to miss everyone already...

Secret of the day....

The day I have been waiting for finally arrived. I'm going for a long break...
I'm going to spend my holidays in Hong Kong, the city where everything seems possible.

Yeap. The possibilities...

Possible of getting fatter and fatter (delicious delicacy)

Possible of getting darker (the beautiful beach and the sun)

Possible of getting BROKE (shopping paradise)

Whatever the possibilites, nothing can stop me from stepping my foot on the land....

Oh gosh!! I'm too excited and yet I haven packed my luggage. LOL. I'm only leaving next Tuesday but my heart and mind no longer here. ^_^
